Manchester United have opened talks with the agent and mother of Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The Frenchman’s contract with the Bianconeri expires in June this year and he is unlikely to extend his stay.
Hence, he is free to negotiate a pre-contract with a foreign club and United are eager to secure a Bosman deal.
Rabiot was a top target for the club last summer but a transfer fell through after failing to agree personal terms.
United are now prepared to try again and Nicolo Schira claims that talks are underway with the player’s mother.
The club refused to pay £134,000-a-week to sign Rabiot last summer. The midfielder may want something similar.
United will also have to negotiate a signing-on bonus for the Frenchman, who has been in superb form for Juve.
Rabiot has registered 11 goals and provided another six assists from 46 appearances for the Bianconeri this term.
With Champions League football next season, United could be willing to meet his salary demands this time around.
