Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly monitoring the situation of Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.
Lavia joined the Saints from Manchester City for £12.5 million last summer and he has had a productive debut season.
The 19-year-old has been exceptional with his tackling and ability to win duels. He has been touted for a big-club move.
It is now reported by The Times that Liverpool and Chelsea are keeping tabs and could make an approach in the summer.
The Reds recently confirmed that James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita will leave on free transfers.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are braced for the departures of Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer.
Both clubs are likely to invest in their midfield. Lavia would be a superb long-term signing with his immense potential.
The Saints have been relegated from the top-flight but could still demand around £50m for the highly-rated youngster.
Manchester City have the option to re-sign him for £40m but that clause will only become active in the summer of 2024.
