Arsenal have been handed a big boost in signing Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo after an update from Sport.
The Gunners currently have Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu as their right-back options but the latter is currently injured.
The Japanese star underwent a surgery for a knee injury and there are suggestions that he may not return until September.
Amidst this, the club are on the hunt for a new right full-back and they have been handed a huge boost in landing Cancelo.
As per Sport, the Cityzens are ready to sell him for around €40m following his return from his short-term loan deal at Bayern.
Barcelona are obviously long-term admirers of him but Arsenal could have their say in the pursuit due to Mikel Arteta’s presence.
Arteta has already signed Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus from City and could have his sights on a reunion with Cancelo.
Cancelo can comfortably play as an inverted right-back or left-back and would be a fantastic acquisition for the Gunners.
