Chelsea are prepared to sell midfielder Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City for £35 million this summer.
The Croatian has been a mainstay for the Blues over the past few years but he is expected to leave them soon.
Kovacic has failed to negotiate a new contract beyond next summer. The Blues are willing to sell him for £35m.
Manchester City are currently leading the race to sign the 29-year-old, having already made contact with his agent.
The Cityzens are close to finalising personal terms with the midfielder and they could then proceed with a transfer offer.
Kovacic could be a potential replacement for Ilkay Gundogan, whose contract with the Cityzens expires this month.
Gundogan has been in sensational form lately and he scored both goals in the club’s FA Cup final triumph over United.
The Cityzens would ideally like to keep the German but he has refused to accept a short-term contract extension with them.
Kovacic could be a handy replacement for the outgoing star.
