Chelsea have an ambitious plan of signing Manuel Ugarte and Moises Caicedo during this summer’s transfer window.
Ugarte is currently the top target for Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino and talks are already underway with the player’s camp.
The Blues are optimistic of agreeing personal terms soon such that they can trigger the €60 million release clause in his contract.
It is now reported by Fabrizio Romano that the Blues are planning to revive their interest in Caicedo regardless of Ugarte’s pursuit.
The west London giants were interested in landing Caicedo during the January transfer window but Brighton refused to sell.
However, the Seagulls will listen to offers for the midfielder this summer and the Blues are planning a renewed proposal for him.
They may not be alone in the pursuit, considering Arsenal were also determined to land the Ecuadorian earlier this year.
Similar to the Blues, the Gunners are planning a mini-overhaul of their midfield options. They are aiming to sign Declan Rice and Caicedo.
