Everton and Newcastle United are reportedly keen on landing Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay this summer.
The Scotland international was a regular starter for the Red Devils at the beginning of last season before losing his place to Casemiro.
The 26-year-old struggled to reclaim his spot for the most of the campaign and he could now consider a fresh challenge elsewhere.Newcastle are known to be interested in signing him since January and the Magpies are set to make a renewed approach for his services.
However, Football Insider claim that they could face competition from the Toffees following their survival in the Premier League.
The Toffees avoided another late relegation battle and they are likely to spend this summer after releasing a number of players.
A defensive midfielder is one of their main priorities and the club could go head-to-head with the Magpies to land McTominay.
United currently want £40 million for their graduate. It is unclear whether either club will be prepared to spend such an amount.Newcastle may have qualified for the Champions League, but manager Eddie Howe has a pre-sales budget of only £70 million.
