The 27-year-old has indicated that he is ready to leave Craven Cottage, with West Ham top of the list for potential next destinations. Since arriving at Fulham for a fee of £20 million, the Portugal international has caught the eye for his displays. The gifted midfielder is seen as an ideal addition to David Moyes’ squad, having just won the European Conference League and set for a return to the Europa League next season.
Joao Palhinha has been mentioned as a potential target for West Ham, as the Hammers seek a long-term midfield replacement for Declan Rice, who is set for a transfer to Arsenal or Bayern Munich this summer. Palhinha has been in wonderful form for the Cottagers, and could be available for around £40 million.
The player has a deal that runs until 2027, and with Rice set to join Arsenal for a rumoured £90 million, West Ham will spend approximately half of that cash to sign Palhinha.
Other teams are interested, but it is West Ham’s European conquests that will attract the midfielder to join them instead.
