Chelsea are set to pay €35 million to sign Villarreal striker Nicolas Jackson this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues have been searching for a new centre-forward, and they are now on the verge of landing Jackson from Villarreal.
The 21-year-old has already agreed personal terms, and the London side are expected to finalise a deal with his club soon.
Instead of triggering his €35m release clause, the Blues plan to negotiate a long-term payment plan with the Yellow Submarines.
Jackson netted only 12 goals in La Liga last season, but nine of those came in the final eight games of the campaign.
The 21-year-old is obviously highly-rated, and the Blues are now in pole position to land his services this summer.
Meanwhile, it is claimed that the Blues could pursue another striker irrespective of an agreement for Jackson.
They are keeping tabs on Victor Osimhen and Rasmus Hojlund. The duo are also on the radar of Manchester United.
