Arsenal are set to compete with Borussia Dortmund for the signing of Real Valladolid defender Ivan Fresneda.
The 18-year-old right-back has been linked with a big-club move over the past few weeks and talks are now advanced.
The Gunners have agreed to pay around £13 million for his services, but they are set to face competition from Dortmund.
The German outfit have an excellent track record of developing youngsters but the Gunners have been equally good lately.
Fresneda is expected to make a final decision in the coming days. Whatever happens, Valladolid want him loaned back for the season.Arsenal have been busy over the past few days in the transfer window and they have already signed Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior.
