Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta is expected to join Inter Milan on a free transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Spaniard was on the radar of Barcelona last summer, but he ended up signing a fresh two-year contract.
It is now reported that Azpilicueta has agreed terms with Inter, and his deal with Chelsea will be terminated.
The Nerazzurri have offered him an initial two-year deal with the option for another 12 months if required.
Azpilicueta was keen on returning to Spain last year, but he has now decided to pursue a new challenge.
The 33-year-old has largely operated from the right-back spot for Chelsea, but could play in a different role at Inter.
The Nerazzurri likes to operate with a back three. We could see Azpilicueta featuring in central defence regularly.
Inter are currently preparing to part ways with Milan Skriniar whose contract expires at the end of the month.
The Slovakian star signed a pre-contract with Paris Saint-Germain in January and an announcement is due soon.
