Manchester United could reportedly turn their attention towards Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo amid Chelsea’s reluctance to lower their asking price for Mason Mount.
The Red Devils are determined to sign Mount from the Blues, but they have been unsuccessful with three transfer bids. Their latest offer of £55m was rejected by the Blues, who want at least £65m for him.
It is now reported by The Times that United could end their interest in Mount unless Chelsea negotiate. The club don’t want to overpay for the 24-year-old whose contract expires at the end of next season.
Meanwhile, it is claimed that Caicedo is one of the alternatives that United could pursue. This could have a direct impact on the Blues, who have also identified Caicedo as one of their top midfield targets.Brighton are open to parting ways with the 21-year-old during the summer, but they are expected to demand close to £100m – a similar fee that West Ham are looking for their captain Declan Rice.
