Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Chelsea forward Kai Havertz on a permanent basis.
The Gunners are determined to secure quick deals during the summer transfer window and they have now made their first signing.
Havertz has made the surprise switch from west London and it will be interesting to see where he plays for the Gunners.
The German operated mainly as a striker during his final season at Chelsea. He had a difficult spell with only nine goals for them.
It is unlikely that he will play in the same role for the Gunners. In our view, he could operate from the number eight position next term.
Havertz has a reputation of delivering quality through balls from deep positions and the Gunners could make use of this attribute.
His arrival could pave the way for the departure of Granit Xhaka, who has made his mind up to join Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
Xhaka has already agreed personal terms with the Bundesliga outfit, and he is expected to make the switch in the next week or so.
