Manchester United have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign midfielder Mason Mount this summer.
The England international agreed personal terms with United earlier this month, and the club have now finalised a transfer fee.
After a couple of weeks of negotiations, they have convinced Chelsea to accept £55m plus £5m in add-ons for the 24-year-old.
Mount will now travel to Manchester for his medical tests before signing a contract. He should join United for pre-season training next week.
United have been very slow with their transfer process. With Mount’s deal concluded, they could now focus on landing a new goalkeeper.Andre Onana is the prime target for manager Erik ten Hag, and negotiations could be stepped up following the conclusion of the Mount saga.
Onana has already agreed personal terms with United over a transfer and the club are expected to make a formal bid in the coming days.
The Nerazzurri are prepared to sell the 27-year-old for £52m.
