Chelsea are really interested in a summer deal for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
The Blues currently have Kepa Arrizabalaga as their first-choice keeper, but this could change by the end of the transfer window.
The club are actively searching for a new number one, and Jacobs claims that the Blues hold a strong interest in landing Maignan.
However, a deal won’t be easy to pull off with the Rossoneri bound to demand a significant fee in the region of €80 million.
Jacobs said: “Mike Maignan is someone that Chelsea really, really like, but it’s a really tough deal to do with Milan.”
The Blues have recouped more than €150m from player sales this summer, and the money will be reinvested into the squad.
A marquee striker is the main priority for manager Mauricio Pochettino, but a world-class shot-stopper could also be pursued.
Maignan is one of the best in world football at the moment, and would be a huge coup for Chelsea if they can secure a deal.
