Manchester United could secure the signing of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana by the end of next week.
The Cameroonian star has been identified as the prime target to bolster the goalkeeping department at United.
Talks are already underway with Inter for his services, and Fabrizio Romano claims that a deal is ‘really close’.
United have failed with three bids for the goalkeeper, but they are confident of reaching an agreement very soon.
The Red Devils are planning a fourth bid in the region of €55m, and the Nerazzurri are likely to accept the offer.
Onana has already agreed personal terms with United, and a transfer should be a formality once the fee is finalised.
United prefer to wrap up his transfer as soon as possible such that he travels with them for the US pre-season tour.
The club are also working on the potential transfer of Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta, but have yet to make a bid.
There are suggestions that United could persuade Atalanta to sell by offering Mason Greenwood on loan.
