Arsenal have joined Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga this summer.
The Spaniard had a wonderful breakthrough season in La Liga last term. The 21-year-old registered 11 goals and four assists from 36 outings.
He played in both the central and attacking midfield roles for Celta, and his progress has reportedly caught the eye of three English teams.Chelsea and Spurs have been following him for some time, but there is now fresh interest from Mikel Arteta’s side in the young playmaker.
Veiga currently has a release clause worth €40 million in his contract, but Celta are willing to accept a slightly lesser fee for the Spaniard.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Veiga would like to work with Mikel Arteta at Arsenal, but it is unclear whether a bid will be made.Arsenal recently invested a huge sum on Kai Havertz from Chelsea. With his arrival, we don’t believe the Gunners will move for Veiga.
The north London giants have another young midfielder in Fabio Vieira in the squad. The Portuguese had a disappointing debut season.
