Arsenal have officially confirmed the arrival of Jurrien Timber from Ajax on a long-term contract.
The Gunners secured an agreement for the Dutch international earlier this month, but the move was delayed by formalities.
The north London club have now formally presented the centre-back to the fans. He becomes their second signing of the summer.
Timber is a central defender by trade, but also has the ability to operate as a right-back or in the defensive midfield position.
His versatility should benefit the Gunners greatly. Mikel Arteta could use him as an inverted right-back in the new season.
Timber is set to travel for the pre-season tour of the United States on Sunday, and he could be joined by Declan Rice.
An agreement was reached to sign Rice at the start of the month, but an announcement has been delayed due to paperwork.Arsenal’s lawyers are due to send the necessary documents to West Ham United to sign in the next 24 hours, according to Sky Sports.
