Arsenal have opened talks with the agent of Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia ahead of a potential transfer.
The Belgium international joined the Saints from Manchester City last summer. He had an impressive debut Premier League season.
Lavia was excellent with his concentration and ability to win challenges in the centre of the park. He also excelled with his passing accuracy.
It is now reported by Fabrizio Romano that Arsenal are in contact with his representative. They have a strong relationship with Emeka Obasi.
Obasi currently represents several Premier League stars including Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah. The former signed a new contract this year.
The Saints currently value their midfielder at £45 million, and Arsenal are yet to make a formal approach for the Belgian’s services.
They are presently waiting for potential offers for Thomas Partey. The Ghanaian is on the radar of top Saudi clubs this summer.
Once the 30-year-old heads for the exit door, the Gunners could step up their interest in signing Lavia from the Championship side.
