Arsenal have finally reached an agreement with Ajax to sign defender Jurrien Timber, according to The Athletic.
The Gunners were in advanced negotiations with the Eredivisie outfit last week, and a verbal deal was finalised.
However, the payment terms needed to be sorted and the club are now expected to land the Dutch international.
The Gunners will pay an initial €40m for the 22-year-old with a further €5m in the form of easily achievable add-ons.
Timber has been given permission to travel to north London and his transfer could be finalised by this weekend.
The Netherlands star should be a fantastic signing for the club, considering his ability to play in multiple roles.
He is a central defender by trade, but has the ability to operate from the right-back position with comfort.
There are suggestions that he could be a regular starter ahead of Ben White.
Timber could operate as an inverted right-back with his strong distribution and ability to track back with ease.
