Arsenal have been handed a big boost in signing Ajax defender Jurrien Timber in the current transfer window.
The Gunners have already started negotiations with the Dutch outfit for the 22-year-old. Their opening bid of €35 million was turned down.
The north London giants are planning a renewed offer for the versatile star and it is now reported that Timber only wants to join them.
According to reputed journalist Mike Verweij, Timber has made it clear to Ajax that he wishes to join the Gunners during the summer.
Bayern Munich are also interested in the young Ajax graduate, but they are aware that the player prefers a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Ajax currently value their prized asset at €60 million, but it is claimed that they could be willing to negotiate on the final transfer fee.
Verweij believes the club could accept a package between €40-50 million for the Dutchman, who can play in central defence or as a right-back.
