Arsenal have been linked with a surprise move for Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong, according to Bild.
The Gunners are currently on the cusp of landing Jurrien Timber from Ajax in a deal worth £40 million plus bonuses.
The Dutchman has the ability to play in central defence or at right-back, but Bild claim that they are still keen on Frimpong.
The former Celtic man had a fantastic season with Leverkusen, scoring nine goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions.
He made more than 70 per cent of his appearances from the right wing-back role. Mikel Arteta may have special plans for him.
Frimpong likes to operate in the opposition half of the pitch, and could be considered as a back-up to Bukayo Saka on the right wing.
The 22-year-old is an attacking full-back, but is also gifted with strong defensive skills. He won two tackles and six duels per game last term.
Leverkusen are currently looking for £43m for the Dutch star, who was previously on the radar of Manchester United.
