Aston Villa could compete with Newcastle United to sign Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney this summer.
The Scotland international had a difficult 2022/23 season with the Gunners after the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko.
He played second fiddle to the Ukrainian star for the left-back spot and made only six starts in the Premier League.
Hence, there is strong speculation that he could leave the club this summer.Newcastle have been keeping tabs on him for a while but they could now face competition from Unai Emery’s Villa.
Villa have made tremendous progress under Emery. They recently booked their spot in the Europa Conference League.
The club are targeting high-profile signings this summer and Emery is apparently keen on a reunion with Tierney.
Tierney joined the Gunners under his tutelage four years ago and a reunion could be on the cards in the coming weeks.Arsenal are likely to demand around £30 million for the 25-year-old when the transfer window reopens later this month.
