Brighton & Hove Albion are preparing a club-record bid to sign Chelsea defender Levi Colwill this summer.
The Blues graduate was loaned out to the Seagulls last season where he made 22 appearances in all competitions.
The South Coast outfit are now keen on re-signing him on a permanent basis and a fresh bid is planned this week.Brighton’s opening £30m offer was rejected by Chelsea, and they are now willing to pay a club-record fee of £40m.
Their upcoming proposal may not be successful, considering Chelsea have no plans of parting ways with the youngster.
Colwill has yet to make his Blues debut, but he is regarded as a big part of the future under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Pochettino is likely to work with some of the club’s upcoming graduates.
