Chelsea are expected to step up their interest in signing Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.
The Blues are currently in the process of landing Manuel Ugarte from Sporting. A deal could be finalised soon.
Despite this, they are still interested in Caicedo, who was a top target for them during the January transfer window.
The Blues are planning a major overhaul of their midfield department.Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Conor Gallagher and Mason Mount could all leave the club.
The Blues could bring in at least two or three midfielders. Ugarte is the top target and Caicedo could be the next one.Brighton reportedly value the midfielder at around £80 million and may not accept anything less to part ways with him.
Apart from Chelsea, Arsenal are also interested in signing Caicedo and there could be a fierce bidding battle between them.
While Arsenal have the luxury of the Champions League, Chelsea have the financial firepower to convince Caicedo to join them.Chelsea have already done transfer business with Brighton. They bought Marc Cucurella from the Seagulls last summer.
