Chelsea are pressing to sign Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa after parting ways with Edouard Mendy last month.
The Blues recently sold Mendy to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli and they are now lining up a new goalkeeper.Kepa Arrizabalaga was the number one earlier this year, but the club prefer to replace him with a marquee signing.
A Bola claim that Costa is the priority target for the Blues, but they could face difficulty in negotiating with Porto.
The Primeira Liga giants are adamant that they won’t sell the 23-year-old for less than his €75 million release clause.
Porto want the entire sum paid in one payment and it will be interesting to see whether Chelsea can find a solution.
They have requested his agent Jorge Mendes to personally speak with Porto in order to change their transfer stance on Costa.
Costa would be a big upgrade on Kepa Arrizabalaga with his better long range distribution and commanding influence.
Manchester United have also been heavily linked with the Portuguese, but they are now focusing on Inter Milan’s Andre Onana.
