Chelsea are reportedly pushing to sign Montpellier striker Elye Wahi in the next few days.
The Blues have already bolstered their strikeforce this summer with the purchases of Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku.
However, they are also planning for the future. According to L’Equipe, Wahi has now emerged as a top target for the London giants.
Wahi was in fine form for Montpellier during the 2022/23 season. He registered an impressive tally of 19 goals and six assists.
The Frenchman is regarded as one of the best young strikers in Ligue 1, and Chelsea are planning an approach for him next week.
They are prepared to meet the €30 asking price set by Montpellier. If successful, the club plan to loan him out to Strasbourg.
Strasbourg are Chelsea’s sister club after they were purchased by their owners recently. The Blues could send more players to them.
They recently planned to loan out David Datro Fofana to the French side, but changed their mind after Union Berlin’s lucrative offer.
