Chelsea are stepping up their interest in signing Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa after recouping funds from player sales.
The west Londoners are on the hunt for a marquee number one, and they have identified Costa as their main target.
According to A Bola, talks are planned with the Portuguese outfit next week as they look to find a suitable agreement.
Costa currently has a release clause worth €75m in his contract, and it is highly unlikely that it will be triggered.
Instead, the Blues could propose to pay the fee over a period of five years, and they could be willing to spend more on him.
Costa is said to be interested in moving to the Premier League and it remains to be seen whether Porto will negotiate.
The club have been adamant that they don’t want to lose him unless a club is willing to pay his entire clause in one payment.
Costa has also been linked with Manchester United, but they have decided to turn their attention elsewhere in recent days.
