Chelsea are still optimistic of signing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen during the summer transfer window.
The west London giants have been poor up front throughout the campaign and they need to find a solution.
Osimhen, who has netted 28 goals for Napoli this season, has reportedly been identified as the prime target.
However, a deal is far from straightforward due to different reasons.
While Chelsea are optimistic over signing him, Napoli are set to hold out for at least €150m for a transfer.
Meanwhile, Osimhen could also turn down their approach due to the lack of Champions League football next term.
The 24-year-old has his sights on playing in the Premier League but wants to be competing at the highest level.
Hence, Chelsea could be trailing in the pursuit but they are still hopeful of persuading Napoli as well as the striker.
The Blues could propose add-ons to lower the initial fee. It remains to be seen whether Napoli agree to the proposal.
