Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana has completed his medical with Union Berlin ahead of his temporary move.
The Ivorian joined the Blues from Molde at the beginning of the year. He was signed for an initial fee of around £10.6m.
Fofana played just over 100 minutes for the rest of the campaign, and he is now set to spend next season with Union.
Union were one of the best teams in the Bundesliga last term, and they qualified for the Champions League for the first time.
The Blues will be hoping that Fofana can make a big impression for them before returning to the club next season.Chelsea have already signed a replacement. They recently landed the services of Villarreal’s Nicolas Jackson.
Aside from Jackson, they also have Armando Broja and Christopher Nkunku in the squad to lead the attack.
Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino is still eyeing a marquee striker such as Dusan Vlahovic before the start of the season.
