Southampton will sign winger Kamaldeen Sulemana from Rennes, as the Ghana international looks set to undergo a medical on Monday morning having been given permission by his club to discuss a transfer to the Premier League. Sulemana has scored five goals in 33 Ligue 1 games, and has played 15 times for Ghana.
The winger came through the ranks in the Danish Superliga playing for Nordsjaelland, and a move to Ligue 1 followed shortly after, signing a five year deal for a total of 20 million euros. He is reportedly the Danish league’s highest ever transfer fee.Southampton manager was asked about a move for the Ghanaian, and he told reporters: “He’ll add potency to anyone in terms of the way he is, But whether he’s on our list or if we are in for him or anything is another thing.
“We would like to add either real central potency in terms of a striker or something different that can play across the front line and supply different chances. That’s what we are out to do.
“No names, no nothing, because a lot of people are looking for the same thing. We still have four or five days of the window left, usually the last day is bonkers anyway so there’s plenty of time.”
