In an interview with RMC Sport, Malo Gusto has expressed his delight after joining Chelsea on a permanent deal from Lyon.
The French right-back signed for the Blues during the closing stages of the January transfer window and he was loaned back to Les Gones.
Hence, Chelsea fans will have to wait until next season to watch him play for them but Gusto is already excited by the project.
In a recent interview, the attacking full-back said that he was already in regular contact with the Blues before his January transfer.
He added that the Blues are not where they should be and he is aiming to win regularly with the club when he starts playing for them.
He said: “The transfer to Chelsea was a bit last minute, although I had been talking to them for some time. We are not where we should be!”
“Chelsea is a very big club, I’m changing countries. But when I sign, I know what to expect, and I sign to play and win.”Chelsea are currently lying ninth in the Premier League standings with 31 points, 10 adrift of the final Champions League position.
They need a huge turnaround in the coming months such that they can make ground on Newcastle United, who are fourth in the table.
