Manchester United are prepared to spend over £50 million to sign Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount this summer.
The Red Devils have identified the England international as their number one target, and talks are ongoing with Chelsea.
Their opening bid of £40m was knocked back by the Blues, and United are now lining up a fresh approach for him.
According to Daily Mail, United are ready to spend over £50m for the 24-year-old and are optimistic over a deal.Chelsea are currently firm on their £70m asking price, but the Blues are likely to loosen their stance in the coming days.
The west London giants are keen to include profits from player sales before the current financial year ends on June 30.
They have agreed to sell Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City for a knockdown fee and may accept the same for Mount.
The Blues are also preparing to sell the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy, Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz this month.
