Manchester United have been backed to sign Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos during this summer’s transfer window.
The Red Devils are determined to bolster their striking department this summer and Ramos is one of their targets.
They have watched him on a number of occasions and are now prepared to make a formal approach for his services.
According to Correio da Manha, Benfica president Rui Costa is bracing for bids from United and PSG for Ramos.
Costa has reduced the striker’s asking price from €100m to around €80m with the view to sanctioning his departure.
United are one of his main admirers and they have been backed to make an official bid for the 22-year-old soon.
The Red Devils face direct competition from Paris Saint-Germain for the player, who netted 27 goals last season.
Les Parisiens could make a serious approach for Ramos in case Kylian Mbappe heads for the exit door this summer.
Mbappe has turned down a contract extension with the club and his current deal concludes at the end of next season.
