Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has clarified that he has no plans of leaving the club in the current transfer window.
The Spaniard joined the Blues from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer, and he had a disappointing debut season.
The Blues have been trying to offload him amid interest from Newcastle, but the Spaniard has no desire to part ways.
Speaking to Nizaar Kinsella, he said: “For sure, I want to stay at Chelsea. No doubts. Sometimes you need time to adapt.”Chelsea currently have Ben Chilwell as the first-choice left-back. They want Lewis Hall to act as the deputy behind him.
However, with Cucurella planning to stay put, the Blues could be tempted to send Hall on loan for the upcoming campaign.Chelsea had a poor 2022/23 season where they finished 12th in the table.
They now have a new manager at the helm in Mauricio Pochettino, but face a difficult start with a home game against Liverpool.
