Brazilian winger Malcom could either be set for a return to France with Paris St Germain or to the Premier League with Newcastle, as both teams have reportedly agreed a 40 million euro transfer fee with Russian side Zenit. The 25-year-old left Barcelona for Zenit St Petersburg in 2019 and has been in stunning form this season for his club.
Malcom’s career has kickstarted in Russia, after a disappointing period in Barcelona and Bordeaux.
With 15 goals and 7 assists this season, Malcom is one of the Russian league’s best players this campaign. Newcastle are looking to add another forward to their squad, as there remains uncertainty over the long term future of Alain Saint-Maximin.
Meanwhile, PSG are not short of attackers, but could find space for the Brazilian attacker. Newcastle are leading the race to sign Malcom, as the Brazilian’s friend Bruno Guimaraes has provided a glowing reference of his time at St James’ Park so far.
Malcom has 18 months remaining on his current deal in Russia.
