Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the arrival of England international James Maddison from Leicester City.
Maddison has been one of the best attacking players in the Premier League and he has now opted for a bigger challenge.
The playmaker was also on the radar of Newcastle United, but he has decided to move to north London with Spurs.
Spurs had been chasing his signature for many seasons. They were first interested in him during his time at Norwich City.
The club have now signed him for around £40 million plus add-ons. He should be a guaranteed starter for them next term.
Spurs had a poor 2022/23 Premier League campaign and they won’t be playing any form of European football next season.
Despite this, they remain a lucrative destination for many players and the club are determined to back their manager with funds.
Aside from a midfielder, the club are planning to bolster their central defensive and wide attacking departments this summer.
