Manchester United have been fancied to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot ahead of Atletico Madrid this summer.
The Red Devils were keen on signing the France international last August, but a transfer did not materialise due to personal terms.
United agreed a package worth €20m with the Bianconeri, but were reluctant to meet the player’s salary demands of €190,000-a-week.
They ended up signing Casemiro from Real Madrid instead, but AS claim that the Red Devils could return for Rabiot this summer.
Rabiot is currently free to discuss personal terms with interested clubs, considering his Juve deal expires at the end of the month.
Atletico and United are said to be keen, but AS claim that the former could withdraw from the race due to the salary demands of Rabiot.
Rabiot is likely to demand a similar wage package with a signing-on bonus. United could sign him this time around with no fee involved.
The 28-year-old had a fantastic 2022/23 campaign with the Bianconeri. He scored 11 goals and provided six assists for the club.
