Arsenal are pushing to land the signature of Chelsea forward Kai Havertz, according to Angelo Mangiante.
The Gunners recently entered talks with the Blues for the German star, but they were put off by the price tag.
The Blues set an initial asking price of £75m, but they are expected to reduce the valuation over the coming days.
As per Mangiante, Arsenal are very close to landing the former Bundesliga star. Personal terms are not an issue.Chelsea are open to negotiating a lower fee. They could settle on a package of £60m to part ways with Havertz.
Havertz can play anywhere in attack or in central midfield.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta may have plans of playing him from the number eight role with Granit Xhaka leaving.
Xhaka is expected to join Bayer Leverkusen in the coming days, provided the Gunners land a suitable replacement.
The Havertz story has not been received well by the fans, but the board are clearly backing Mikel Arteta for him.
