It is now reported that the Blues have decided to walk away from the pursuit as they are reluctant to pay £50 million.
The London giants have also ended their interest in AC Milan’s Mike Maignan, who is not for sale at any price.
As things stand, the Blues may start pre-season with Kepa Arrizabalaga as their number one, but things could change.Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez could be a player considered by the Blues over the next couple of weeks or so.
The Argentine has European football with Villa, but he is open to pursuing a bigger challenge ahead of next season.
