Manchester United have stepped up negotiations with Inter Milan to sign goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer.
The Cameroonian star joined the Nerazzurri from Ajax on a free transfer last summer, and he had a wonderful debut campaign.
Despite this, the San Siro giants are prepared to sanction his exit as they look to use the funds for the purchase of multiple signings.
The club currently value Onana at £51.5m, but they are willing to accept around £43m up front for the former Ajax goalkeeper.
United have already expressed an interest in landing him, and they are expected to make a formal bid for his services soon.
Inter CEO Beppe Marotta confirmed yesterday that United have Onana on their radar, and the club are awaiting an opening offer.
Onana is one of the best ball-playing goalkeepers in world football. He would be a big upgrade on De Gea in United’s goal.
De gea is currently a free-agent after his contract expired on June 30, but talks are ongoing with him over a possible renewal.
